Hi! Just bought used a Marin Presidio 3 2023 model.
Seller claimed bike had low milage. After using the bike for a couple of weeks i inspected the drivetrain a bit more thorough.
Does this look worn to you guys?
It does not slip under any load that i can produce.

No expert but I would say this is minimal wear
yeah that looks pretty good to me. these things last like 5x longer than a well maintained chain
Looks minimal to me as well. I’ve seen timing belts come fresh out of the bag looking like this.
Thank your for the replies! I have no experience woth these kinds of drivetrain, but i am loving the smoothnes of the nexus inter 8 and quietness of the belt!
I got 2 Gates equipped bikes with 8000+ cumulative mileage. This looks like minimal wear.
belt drives usually show wear as a shiny/glazed surface on the teeth or cracking on the backside, if it’s not slipping and teeth aren’t rounded off it’s probably fine, those things last forever compared to a chain
