Frankly I am italian and I have no clue why people decide to visit italy in the summer. It's so freaking hot. And you can go when it's low(er) season in September and the start of October and still have wonderful days at the beach.
Meanwhile here in the north (I live in Germany now), the summer is really great.
As a native Finn, summer is the best season. I would very much like to live anywhere else during all other seasons. It's not so magical when it's dark, grey, wet and cold. If I could afford it I would live somewhere else for at least 6 months of the year.
It's true that there are no "Flat-Earthers" in Finland but, unlike the rest of the World, scepticism of the so-called "Scientific Consensus" is very welcome, even if the Academy of Finland won't fund it.
Happy and jealous that you are in Finland, just learn to say SAUNA instead of saw-na. It is my mission in life to teach the world to say SAUNA correctly because it is the only Finnish word adopted to international vocabulary barring our nearest neighbours Sweden and Russia.
Agghh I live in One of the most northern places in America that isn't Alaska and the sun sets around 10:30 p.m. here and restaurants used to be regularly open until midnight, but after COVID they all close at like 8:00 p.m. now 😢 I miss it
Finland was one of the first European countries I thought about immigrating too. But I found there is no visa based merely on ability to afford living there, IOW for retirees. And to get work in Finland, you have to be at least proficient in the Finnish language, which they said is among the hardest in the world to learn. Nonetheless, I am very happy in Bulgaria, where I have been living for about six weeks. I hope to get that visa that requires only proof of financial viability, which Bulgaria does offer, and the numbers look good. If I do get settled here permanently, I hope to do some rail traveling, and Finland is very high up on my list.

This makes me want to visit Finland
The sun doesn't really set. We don't see the sun but it's very bright

I understand why the sun sets so late but my monkey brain doesn’t want to accept that those clips are from those times

It reminds me of Canada but I don't get why

Finland during summer is seriously underrated and I was outdoors so much because of the long hours of sunlight and the weather being just right.
I had a swim in a lake yesterday after a sauna, and it was truly wonderful 😊 I love living in Finland!
I miss my stay in Finland 😢😢😢
