Hey all! I apologize if this question has been asked before! I did search for it and the general consensus is that MAAP Aero jerseys and bibs run a bit tight.

Bought my first set of MAAP products recently and the bibs feel a bit too tight on the thighs. Like I break a sweat trying to pull them up lol.

Similar story with the jerseys. The solar pro one fits snug however the drome aero one feels a bit too tight. Like, if I don’t zip up to the top and turn down the zipper pull to lock it, it snaps undone 😅.

However, after wearing them for like 5 mins all of it does feel like it’s part of my body. I haven’t worn them on a ride just yet, it will render them not returnable.

Turning to the internet to see if I should size up! MAAP live chat said, its the intended fit.

Looking for opinions!

Stats
I’m 5’9” tall, chest 38, waist 34, hips 38, thighs 23, weight 157~160 lbs. new to road cycling, about 1500 miles and have been wearing adidas kits.

All of these are size medium.

Products for reference –
Solar Jersey – purple
Drome Aero Jersey – green – feels a bit tight
Team Evo Bib shorts – tight on thighs

  1. Fit looks good. It should be tight. If it zips it ships. It will stretch out a bit

  2. Im heavier than you with similar/slightly larger thighs and medium MAAP Team Evo feels great. Supposed to be somewhat compressive.

  3. I haven’t tried their bibs, but for their race jerseys, I call them sausage casings – regardless of size. They’ll get zipped up. And they do ease in and conform to your body after a while. But it takes a little bit of coordination to fully zip them the first time.

Maap jerseys always stretch out quite a bit once I start riding. These look right

Man you look like you’ve worn this for a while, like you do wear MAAP. Go for a ride and you’ll be happy you didn’t size up!
They look fine on you. I have pro air jerseys too and they are tight but I forget about them when I’m on the bike. Team evo bibs are also tight on me I have big thighs but same thing when on the bike, I forget I’m wearing them. It’s a good sign mate. Just enjoy the ride in them and team MAAP here. You look good in them.

  6. We are about the same size and I wear Medium in MAAP. Its suppose to be tight, looks better that way too

I didn’t read your context but the fit in your pics looks solid goodbye 👋

  8. I don’t know much about this brand but assume it’s a premium price? Just look for other brands that are cheaper in price while offering some performance. Yeah Adidas is shit for cycling gear, so do some googling and honestly it’s all about how it feels and fits. Every brand is different.

I’ve found that Castelli is a great brand for me in terms of fit, have a good price point that isn’t breaking the bank, and I actually like the way their stuff looks.

I can’t tell you how many people I see with Rapha, MAAP, PNS, etc. kits on the road – and I pass all of them in my $1,000 aluminum bike and my $100 cycling kit. Feels good knowing I didn’t waste so much money on cycling stuff by I’m way stronger than these posers.

But yeah, it should be tight but not so much that you can’t move or zip the stuff closed. That seems really odd lol. I have one aero jersey that’s really tight and I gotta be honest, I don’t use that thing unless everything else is in the wash.

Be comfortable so you enjoy the ride vs thinking about if it’s too loose or too tight. If it doesn’t feel right, trust your gut. If it’s so tight it comes undone by itself – yeah that sounds too tight lol

Yeah, their clothes are meant to fit a little tight, and they usually loosen up after you wear them for a while. I think it looks pretty good right now.
