We dropped the bike off to get some bits fixed which was going to take a few days so gave us the perfect opportunity to explore Budapest. We had a lovely walk looking at some stunning buildings, a swim in the baths (me, not Nala!) and then I had the chance to experience a “sparty” which is the thermal pools at night with music, light show and entertainers.

Weโre Dean & Nala, and weโve been best friends since December 2018. I was cycling around the world when I heard Nala meowing out for me somewhere in the Bosnian mountains. With no intentions of keeping Nala, I knew i had to save the wee kitten and take her to the vet – but I was well aware of the fact that it might be a bit of a challenge considering I only had a bike. However, despite my concerns, Nala quickly climbed out of the front bag on the bike handle and straight onto my shoulder. Since then, weโve been travelling the world together. Thank you, Dean! I was in Budapest in spring 2014 and visited many of the places you did, but not the spa. That โspartyโ looked pretty cool, but not Nalaโs cup of tea! Boy, was she glad to see you come back! Enjoy your Budapest days while your bike is fixed up!

The Sparty looks like a lot of fun. Glad to see you out an par-tay! I think there are worse fates than an unexpected weekend in Budapest. Wow, incredibly beautiful. I kept being struck by the Eastern aspects of the architecture in that first complex. That staircase with the vaulted brick and the arches, that looks so ancient. Worn smooth. Iโm 77 years old but loved the sparty, music and all! Dean is much younger than me and itโs good that he enjoys his relative youth. I definitely enjoyed my own. With many, many cats down through all the long years, hahahahaha! Life can be good sometimes. Weโve got to stay open to that possibility, I think.
