My long term goal is to do an Ironman, but I have never had a road bike. The seller wants $600 for it. Is this a good deal? And would doing an Ironman be doable on this bike, or is this a bike I should use to get used to riding a road bike, then upgrade once I take training seriously? And also I’m 5’8”, would a 54cm bike fit me or should I go for a different size?
If I decide to get this bike, what are some things I should look for when checking it out? Thank you.

Depends where it is, but where I am this isn’t worth anywhere near five hundred quid.
Aluminum Domanes are a good first bike but would be one of the slower bikes on a tri.
$600 for a rim brake aluminum Domane is too high. Going rate is more like $150 to $200.
