At the least, ask for a new hanger.

But also maybe returning the bike whole, because a hanger doesn’t bend and get stripped on its own. something must have happened to the bike before.

  2. That threaded hanger is a consumable. You can just get a new one.

Derailleur not hitting both 1 and 9: once you fix the hanger, you may have to adjust the min/max screws.

Shame that it came bent and stripped.

New hanger – and if you can see if you can get the same one but in a different metal, something better. This looks like die cast chinesium. Wheels manufacturing should have you sorted for a new hanger.

Really, your best solution is to buy a new hanger. They’re less expensive than a decent tap, which might not even solve your problem.

If the box was damaged you (or the company you purchased it from.) have an issue with the shipper. If the company or person put it in the box damaged you have an issue with them – unless they stated ‘As-is’ – Is this supposed to be a new bike or a used one?

A local machine shop might have a tap and could clean up the threads for less…

  6. Yeah new hanger. Inspect the rest
To see if there are any other damaged components. I’d also argue for a new derailleur

Same thing happened to me when I dropped off my Commencal to get assembled

Called customer support and they overnighted a new derailleur hanger 👍
