Remco Evenepoel responded the day after the Tourmalet stage at the 2026 Tour de France, saying he and teammate Laurens Leiperwitz had “worked it out” after apparent tension inside the team. But with both riders fighting for leadership, the situation remains one of the biggest stories around Remco’s Tour.

In this report, we hear from Evenepoel about the team dynamic, plus reaction from Tadej Pogacar and Matteo Jorgenson. After a brutal mountain stage, the pressure is now just as much inside the team as it is on the road. #TDF

  1. If Remco finishes the race this time he can consider that his victory. I have liked and followed Remco from when he went over the wall and followed his recovery and was amazed by him. Bit his temperament is so childish. He has shouted and moaned and complained in many races, if he was top of the podium after every race he'd be tolerated but he's more likely to quit. Joint leaders in the team recipe for disaster.

  2. Did Biniam Girmay take English lessons? I think his English sounds much better now than back in 2024 when he won the green jersey. He has always been able to express himself well with the words he knew, but his speech seems so much cleaner and effortless now.

  3. Remco has drastically improved in climbing based on his performance on the stage 6. Tadej is still one of a kind compared to the competition. Question remains whether Remco can sustain such a climbing performance in the alps as well. Wish him best of luck.
