Insurance is a scam full stop!! Yes my bike and car are both group 50 insurance. My bike is £600 a year with 3 years no claims bonus and my car is £800 a year with 15 years no claims 😅
Problem is only need a few bad accidents with bikes and the payouts can reach the moon. Liabilities can run into hundreds of thousands . Only takes a few to put up prices for everyone.
ive just turned 24 and have had a few different bikes had a brand new aprilia sx and now got a mt, when i first started riding at 17 i only paid 67 a month for my aprilia and now i only pay 30 a month for my mt currently and i have a car which i can insure for 38 a month so for my age insurance is fine, i know a lot of ppl the same age as me are getting fd up cos they got they’re license after covid where as i got mine before and is soo much better luckily 👌🏼
With insurance Its tough to draw a line anywhere as far as age is concerned. Ive seen and known of people well into their 50's riding like absolute bellends. Not to mention the number of riders on superbikes in shorts, tshirt and flipflops.
I'm 28 and just had a crash that was my fault (being a bellend lessons learned grateful to be here still) my pal that I ride with has just turned 40 he pays a year what I pay a month we've both had our licenses about the same time 3 years or so 🤢🤢🤢 makes me feel ill every time I think about it 🤣🤣🤣
Not gonna lie I think it’s worth it, got hit off my bike a few years ago completely their fault.. got paid out £17,500 🤷🏻♂️ definitely more than what I paid on insurance for that year
Unfortunately accidents do not help the situation, both for cars and bikes. Too many idiots will exacerbate the rising costs. It just helps the insurance companies excuse the rising costs.
I paid £26 a month for a kawi er500 commuter bike. I was 24 years old. No NCB. Fully insured in my name only at my address. With no bike licence. Now work that fucker out. 😂
BOGEST SCAM IM 38 12 YEARS NO VCLAIMS MY CAR THIS YEAR IS £90 AND IM NOW DOING MY MOTOR BIKE TEST FOR LICENSE MY BIKE SUZUKI V STROM 1000CC 2008 IS £100 A MONTH
My last renewal was over £100 increase despite me not having any accidents and when i rang up to see why it increased so much they made it cheaper than the previous year by £5
So why not just send me the renewal price for what they changed it to by me asking why it went up so much if its not a scam
No it’s not really. Crashes can be insanely expensive. Spill fuel onto the road? That’s over £40k in resurfacing costs. Most accidents happen within the first year of ownership. Even those with old licenses get stung in the first year of a new bike. Doesn’t mean I don’t cringe any time I start that first year timer though. I’m starting to think it’s worth buying my bike and garaging it a year before I sell my next one to game the system.

the driver should be the insured part not the car
The insurance for my Aprilia RST Mille is £130 per year, which I consider to be totally reasonable.

Paying £1,884 ish yesrly for my insurance. Will be getting my NCB real soon, doubt the price will go down, most likely will increase.

55 year old paying 300 a year is extortion, they need to shop around!

They're worst than loansharks … Insurance for motorbike is the biggest scam definitely
It is all a scam anyway they write everything off. Completely pointless.
36 and my annual premium on a r1200 GS is £280. That's with full NCD. Dont need to be 60, it vets cheaper way before then.
