I got this Bakcou little cub trailer all set up, lugged down stairs, to find the required bolt it needs to attach to on the bicycle rear axle is too big. Anyone use this Bakcou trailer and have ideas for how to attach it?
The promo video they use for it shows a mom with an ebike healing two happy kids. I just have one kid to take but it won’t attach. I can’t find videos or text reviews of the product not made by the company itself.
Thanks for any ideas.

Just need the hole drilled out slightly larger on that hitch bracket. It’s most likely 12mm or about 1/2 inch diameter. Should be quick and easy for anyone with a cordless drill and drill bits. Some Vise-Grip pliers or a vise would be helpful to hold the bracket, or it could be done with it attached to the trailer like in the photos.
Are you saying the eye of that mount does not fit on the hub axle? Because the third picture looks like it does? If its just too small, can you drill out the eye of the mount slightly larger?
Not an expert but my guess is you might need to order a longer axle.

At the end of the arm from the trailer, there should be a cotter pin held in place by a wire clip. That cotter pin is holding the hitch that attached to the bike (black metal piece I can see in your picture).
You should take the cotter pin out of the hitch. The hitch is held on your bike by the quick release skewer that hold your rear wheel on your bike. You would need to unclampthe skewer and then unscrew it from the piece on the opposite side of the wheel from the clamp handle. Keep track of the little springs and how they’re arranged on the skewer.
Slide the skewer through the hitch and then through the bike frame and wheel as before. Screw the opposite end on until the clamp securely clamps, making sure the part of the hitch that connects to the trailer is parallel with the ground.
If your trailer did not come with any instructions and you are not familiar with bikes, I highly recommend taking both to a bike shop. They will make sure everything is set up safely and for just the hitch might not even charge you. If there’s more wrong with your bike, you’d want to know before jeopardizing you or your kids safety.
Burley is a well known brand of bike trailer and this trailer looks like a copy. You might see it you can find instructions for a Burley trailer online.
Step 1, remove the bracket that stays attached to the bike from the trailer. Undo the cotter pin under the reflector in pic, it has a safety catch that wraps around the trailer arm to keep it from falling out.
Step 2, try the black bracket on the bike again, from pic 3 it looks like it does fit, but is misaligned due to being attached to the trailer.
If it doesn’t fit, your best bet is probably to drill out the hole a little bit. This is best done in a vise or with a drill press, the drill bit will aant to grab and spin the bracket. Do not hold the bracket with your fingers while drilling.
The other option would be to contact the manufacturer to see if they have a bracket with a larger hole.
I take it your bike isn’t a Bakcou e-bike?
