Finally my new wheels arrived!

I immediately started transferring the cassette and disc brakes, then I noticed I needed another lockring (inside thread) for the disc rotors, and another cassette. I am riding SRAM XPLR AXS 1×12, and I thought it was XDR body (since it is SRAM), but nope, my current cassette (PG-1231) was HG body, so I ordered a new cassette (xg-1251), and it fitted on the new wheels, after all that and setting it up tubeless (Rim tape & tire fitting), I did my first test ride yesterday (35km), and I felt the difference, these wheels are solid (so far).

Wheels: EliteWheels Gravel Aero+ (bought on Aliexpress for €432)

Tires: Tufo Thundero 44mm

Note: the box was slightly damaged, but the wheels are packaged very well, so no visible damage to the wheels after inspection.

  1. Hmm…

I might need to switch to 45mm ish tires in the rear. With 50mm, it actually blows up to 53mm and that’s beyond the clearance of my frame, which is 52mm.

How wide are these tires? I know that they are the 44mm model but wide rims make tires wider.

Been eyeing these for a while – how’d you get them for €430?

I can only find them for €650 :/

Holy shit this makes the bike look so much better. I have the GRVL AF GRX and am considering new wheels, and boy this just made me closer to buying them.

  4. Have yet to receive mine due to supposedly a logistics error. Elitewheels customer serivce on Aliexpress is horrible so far.
