We did the Alberni Bam Bam route from Bikepacking.com on Vancouver Island, backwards so the Bamfield ferry would line up with our dates. Reversing the route didn't work with Ride With GPS as when it was reversed it completely changed the route. I have no idea why, but we just used Kamoot and tried to make sure it was following the same route. I am more familiar with Kamoot so it made things a little easier for navigation. Camping was fairly easy, no booking required and the Rec sites were incredible. I feel like there should be a few more designated bikepacking sites where the space is shared with a few other campers since I feel like many of the Rec sites were basically taken over with bikes (which was actually pretty cool). We managed to swim almost every day, which made the inside of our sleeping bags much cleaner. It was also easy to get water and filter it so we could stay hydrated. We did a Hotel in Port Alberni as my friend needed a rabies booster shot at the ER and a hikers hut in Port Renfrew as we were cold and wet. We had an amazing time, came across lots of cool people doing it the right way. Camping was great, weather was essentially perfect outside of 1 rain day, bikes held up and the company was great.
