Finally! Taking the 2013 Yamaha FJR1300 out for its first 100-mile test run. 🏍️💨

The weather finally cleared up! After receiving my 2013 Yamaha FJR1300 the day before in terrible conditions, today was the perfect day to see what this legendary tourer can do.

This wasn’t just a standard first ride. The bike has just undergone a massive refresh, including:
✅ Two Brand New Tyres
✅ New Brake Pads
✅ Complete Front Suspension Overhaul (everything but the fork legs)

Because of the fresh rubber and new pads, I was advised to take it easy for the first 100 miles. I kept the bike in Touring Mode for the journey from Grimsby to The Paddock Burger Bar & Sportsbikeshop in Kirton, Boston. It’s a 100-mile round trip through the heart of Lincolnshire—the perfect route to bed everything in and get a feel for the FJR’s handling.

Join me for the “scrub-in” ride as I get to know my new machine!

In this video:

The First Start: Finally getting the FJR on the road.
The Route: Grimsby to Kirton through Lincolnshire.
Sportsbikeshop: Arriving at the UK’s famous biker haunt.
First Impressions: How the new suspension and brakes feel.
