Cycling touring in France is one of my favourite things ever, but normally I ride in Brittany. This time, I decided to head to Paris by bike, camping along the way and following the River Seine and its meandering bends. Saw lots of cycle tourers and riders on bikepacking adventures through France and truly, it was such an epic adventure.

Ive heard RandoCamping website is a good source for locating French campsites
Lovely post.
Lovely to see and nicely edited, thanks for sharing, Kit 😊
Devon girl meets …The Flat 😅
Awaiting to see how you cope with the hills again.
Best video ever! 🎉
Hi, great to see you back in France (my favourite place to cycle). I was intrigued to see your comments on flat terrain. I rode the Vélodyssée route up the west coast of France. It was all flat! I too found it hard as there is no rest from the saddle. You get no variety. Guess you will just have to stop for coffee more often. 🙃
I blummin love Honfleur! So pretty, so elegant
I don't think I have ever been more scared when driving a vehicle than I was going over that bridge over the Seine between ~Le Havre and Honfleur! There was a gale blowing, flurries of snow, enormous lorries struggling to stay in lane and MANY times I felt the wheels of my large motothome lift on one side, making me convinced "this is it, I'm going to die" as the motorhome leaned over!
Nothing happened, though.
I will NEVER go over that in anything above a slight breeze again – unless I'm in a Ferrari, Lamborghini or 2CV (they seem to lean over all the time, but never actually fall on their sides)
Thank you for creating and sharing such a beautiful trip. I thoroughly enjoyed your video
Is there any truth in that comments over six words assist with the algorithm?
If so I do apologise for my previous comment of only one word "Lovely". As I really do enjoy your videos and this one reminded me of the two French trips I have done in the past with my £16 Argos one man tent that I will never part with as well as my crash damaged (written off) Dawes Super Galaxy my friend gave me to rebuild and tour the French pre Alps. We also saw the Sky team passing our campsite on one of the races. Happy Days 😊
Hey Kit, I'm watching your video like a stage race, a bit at a time! Loving it and have to mention the hay-fever. Uuugh! Mine was fine during the last heat wave, 34/35c here in Oxfordshire as the pollen was taken so high up. Now it's cooler and it's blocked nose and streaming eyes! I'll keep watching 😊
Openstreetmaps with cycle path tabs on does a good job showing the cycle routes in France with highlight pen effect. Best cycle mapping imo.
Either the Seine cycle path has changed or your route was very different to mine as I experienced many kilometres of informal camping on the way into Paris that was very unpleasant and a large section of very rough trail? Its not a ride I would ever recommend
I actually cycled over the Pont de Normandie a couple of weeks back on my tour from Dieppe to Cherbourg. It wasn’t as bad as I expected, though if I’d known about the shuttle bus for cyclists beforehand I probably would’ve taken it! Only found out about it after the crossing when I saw the green signs.
Real shame about the Portsmouth to Le Havre ferry route being cut this October. I was planning on using that crossing next year to cycle onto Paris, but looks like I’ll have to go via the Avenue Verte instead.
What a brilliant video and cycling adventure you had. We Holiday in France regularly but would love to do a cycle trip sometime, following exactly what you did would be perfect. I’d also like to see you go south and climb Alpe d’huez and Mont ventoux. Maybe one for the future? 😅
looks really great – inspiring, thanks
Incroyable Kit! Just finished your video and loved it. What a beautiful ride along the Seine and the wooden tents are genius. The music works really well too. I was involved in numerous language trips to Paris and we certainly had our moments trying to get 50 students onto the metro in rush hour! Thanks for the adventure to you and your partner. Merci Kit! 😊
Fab 😀
Did you drive to Portsmouth and if so what did you do with your car?
Gosh you weigh less than 50kg? I am nearly two of you.. I struggled doing a 44 mile ride with my tent and bear so kudos to you. They’re shutting the Portsmouth to Le Havre route in a few months so you had good timing.
Great video and cycling.
Very well organised route, really like those wooden tents, wouldn’t mind having a go at makeing one of them.
Cheers for the tour.
Looked like a great cycling trip, thanks for sharing.
