🎬 Episode 2: Berlin to Šiauliai. Half-way to the top of the world.

Gate 1 behind them, the riders roll out of Berlin and point the wheels east. Germany, then Poland, then Lithuania, three countries between the first checkpoint and the second.

Poland steals the show. Endless forest, deep sand, trails that riders call the best they’ve ever seen, the kind of woods you promise yourself you’ll come back to. Three ways to take it on, too: the RoadBook and GPX riders plunging straight into the trees, the Explorer GPX crew carving the tarmac through the same breathtaking country. One event, three adventures, all heading the same way north.

The sand doesn’t forgive. When a bike buries itself deep, the whole group is off and hauling, ropes out, boots dug in, everyone shouting the rider on until the wheel finally bites and breaks free. No chase van. No backup. Just riders pulling for riders, then rolling on together.

Three days after Berlin, the first machines reach Šiauliai, Gate 2, half-way to Nordkapp. Dinner, a proper party, tired faces around the fire. Tomorrow: Latvia, a ferry across the water, and the long haul towards Sweden.

Two Gates down. Two to go. The North is still pulling hard.
