In this episode of Where I Bike, I meet Humza, the rider behind Velocious CC — a small, independent cycle courier service built on community, care, and the simple joy of being on a bike.
Humza’s story starts young. He began couriering at just 17, not long after dropping out of college. “I’d always ridden everywhere anyway,” he says. “So when I realised I could make a living on my bike, it just made sense.” What began as shifts with local delivery companies soon turned into his own operation — Velocious CC, a one-man courier business serving local clients across the city. When he’s busy or away, he brings in a few other riders, keeping it small, personal, and connected.
“We focus on eco deliveries — carbon neutral, local, reliable,” he explains. “People prefer working with smaller companies. You get better service, and it feels more human.”
Humza’s workdays start with coffee and a pastry from one of his bakery clients before heading into a steady rhythm of wholesale drops, bread, cakes, flowers, and cheese — pedalling from shop to shop on his Bullet or his personal bike the Omnium Cargo. “It’s my fun bike and my work bike,” he says with a grin. “It’s simple. flat bars, hydraulic brakes, a folding rack. Nothing fancy, just perfect for what I need.”
He laughs when asked whether the job made him love bikes more: “Definitely. My parents went on a tandem for their honeymoon, so maybe it’s in my blood. But yeah, I’m happiest when I’m riding. Even when I take time off, I end up missing it — not the work exactly, but the feeling of freedom, the movement, the people you meet.”
There’s a contagious calm in the way Humza talks about his life on two wheels. Whether it’s a bag full of flowers or a loaf of bread, every delivery is a small part of a bigger rhythm — one that keeps both rider and city connected.

Aw yeah! Man, this makes me miss Bris so much! Velocious used to deliver our wheels to local customers back when I was based in the city and always provided a sick and timely service; any businesses looking to get efficient bike based deliveries on the go should absolutely check them out 🙂!
