This will be the first bike I've ever bought, so not totally sure what to look for. Can test ride it – but these are the only pictures the seller provided. Based on what I have seen, this seems like an OK deal?
No – this bike is worth 50-100 bucks and that is only if you know how to work on a bike can replace the consumable components yourself

If you want an older trek get something steel not aluminum and like another commenter has mentioned being able to turn a wrench is key or the repair costs will soon exceed the value of the bike.

Depends on the area and how close to running well the bike is. The handlebar tape falling apart suggests a good bit of neglect. I usually say most working bikes are worth 200-300 but not so sure about this one.
