Box had lots of holes in it, and my grizl 5 arrived with a dent in the frame, when building the bike I took a glance over all parts but didnt see anything, i guess i missed it or didnt watch it closely enough.
The annoying thing is, i only noticed this after a 75km ride, so i cannot return it anymore. I did make a picture of the bike after assembling it, zoomed into it, and i see the dent was already there before my first ride.
Is this safe to ride still? In the attached picture you can see its not in a high stress area luckily. The dent feels pretty smooth and the paint didnt crack. I'd say its about 1-2mm deep.
Not sure what to do, Canyon support said RIP basically since i already had a ride. This is my first time buying a bike and i guess today i learned to always carefully check the whole bike.

Thats warranty claim. If brand new bike arrived damaged- return it.
Return it! Go in Contact with Canyon ASAP
You also learned to not be honest to canyon. Should have not mentioned the ride
As it is a Aluminium Frame and there are no cracks or anything it seems Fine to Ride. Aluminium won’t just break with no signs Like Carbon does. And in the Picture it doesnt seem Bad tbh.
Edit: I will Never get reddit, why the downvotes, Everything I wrote is right. Just because the prefered way would be a new bike from Canyon the Reality is that op won’t get one and wants to know if he can Ride the bike like this, the answer is yes, he can.
In Germany (and presumably the rest of the EU as well), there is a two-year statutory warranty (not to be confused with a manufacturer’s guarantee); during this period, the manufacturer must prove that you caused the damage. Only after that does the manufacturer’s guarantee—and the associated reversal of the burden of proof—come into play, meaning you must then prove that the damage already existed beforehand.
Can’t say I wouldn’t just send it but since it’s brand new I’d be pretty unhappy
I would ignore the dent and send it, but everybody has different risk tolerances. Gutted for ya either way.
Maybe post to r/bikewrench/.
If it’s not cracked then it’ll probably hold up. It can be tricky to detect cracks underneath the paint however.
If you receive a damaged package I’d instantly reject it. Not worth the hassle
