Stuck between a JAVA suprema 2019-21 ( not sure which model specific ) or a 2008 cervelo soloist.
– Java $900 trying to get it for 8
– cervelo (red) $900 firm
– cervelo (grey) $700
What would y’all choose if you were me considering specs and price and what not ! Upgrading from a 80s road bike so I’ll be pleased with whatever I pick up 🙂

The cervelos are overpriced, by quite a bit actually. I’d go for the java, but have 0 idea what that bike is nor am I very familiar with Java. Looks like shimano 105 with alloy-carbon rim brake wheels on a carbon frame? Looks at least a decade newer than the Cervelos you’re looking at. The other big reason I’d avoid the cervelos are the proprietary tear dropped aero seatposts. You crack one of those and you mind as well get a new bike cause finding a replacement one for a two decade old bike is gonna be insanely hard. The Java has a some proprietary carbon aero seatpost, but at least the bike itself is much newer and finding a replacement part may not be as hard.
Honestly none of these man. They’re all overpriced. You’d be better off finding a bike made post 2019 with shimano Tiagra or above, even if it’s an aluminum frame it’ll be a lot nicer to ride than these bikes
