Four items I'm taking on my trip from Saudi Arabia to Southern Italy this November/December. It weighs a bit more but provides a different level of luxury.
The question is not if you will ditch these items but rather how long will it take.
Btw if this thread stays up but the road bike bikepacking thread was deleted I will also take all of this shit on my next *bikepacking adventure*.

Yo, pack for torrential rain. We associate Italy with sunshine but check the average rainfall for Rome in November. You wont be cold but the rain storms can lead to serious flooding.
Have a great trip. I don’t mean to be a downer, I just got caught out myself and ended up riding through a literal disaster zone for 500 miles

Which tent is that?

Have you tested this out on a multi day trip with your targeted 80km daily distance already?

Very nice. I think it‘s good that you found out what works best for you and show some diversity or at least a different approach. Do you have any tipps on the process you went through to figure out your setup?

You do you man. For me, the faff of setting up such a tent and finding wood (especially in the arid regions you’re presumably cycling through on that route) would not be worth it and I’d get a warmer sleeping bag

What’s your route between Saudi and Turkey?

Can you tell me more about your stove? How big of a package does it collapse to? Is it heavy?
I’ve been wondering whether a hot tent with a wood-burning stove would be a feasible bike camping setup. I live in Canada and would like to extend my camping season into the cooler months a little bit.

Pack that stuff on you bike and test ride it a few times for an overnighter or a 3 day that has your expected average daily distances. If you still want to carry it, go for it. I expect it will mostly be left in a donation bin before you leave Saudi.

I look forward to seeing your journey and hope you’ll keep posting. YMMV and if I may ask, what is your height/weight and what is the weight of your bike with and without the gear?
I’m a heavier rider (230 lbs/104.5kgs) so I don’t mind pushing more weight up a hill but I’m curious about your setup.
