I have a Motobecane Hybrid and would like to change the cassette from an 9-speed 11-34T to a 9-speed 11-42T or 11-46T. The derailleur is the Shimano Acera 9-speed.
Some say it will work with a derailleur hanger extender while some say it will not. The plan is to switch the cassette to an 11-46T (or 11-42T), add an Impalapro bike derailleur extender and a longer chain. If that doesn't work we can give the 11-42T cassette a try.

Just grab a Cues groupset from Aliexpress.
It might work. When you get into this sorta stuff there is a bit of trial error.
Also, you chainrings and their differences in count make a big difference.
