Jonas Vingegaard is back at the 2026 Tour de France in top form and he’s got a featherweight aero bike to help him take on Tadej Pogačar.

In this video, Simon delves deep into every detail about Vingegaard’s custom Cervélo S5 and reveals it weighs just 6.8kg – spot on the UCI’s minimum bike weight limit.

Whatever happens in this year’s race for the yellow jersey, Vingegaard will surely be confident he’s got one of the best bikes in the peloton.

  1. crazy build, imo should have a 2x setup and no paint. that would make it approx 6.9kg and much more efficient gears for mechanical efficiency. slight aero penalty. but can run that the whole tour

  2. Reserve wheels have bigger internal/external witdth for the front, that is why wider tire is used for front wheel. Real tire measured width will be bigger than 30, 29 mm respectively.

  3. oddball question after the women's Giro – what happens if you're bang on the weight limit but you have to take a spare wheel – especially if it's a neutral care spare – and that wheel happens to be a bit lighter than what you started with? are the UCI going to be idiots again?

  4. It's weird how Visma LAB seems to be the only team regularly riding ~45mm deep wheels. You'd think that they would be the last ones to give up those 2-3 watts of aerodynamic drag to drop 200g. At Paris roubaix Franziska Koch was on 60mm wheels while the two other Visma LAB riders were on the 42/49. You'd think the wheel choice would've made a difference in the sprint finish.
