Was doing some chain cleaning and derailleur got caught and was pulled to far forward snapping the plastic spring cover off. Now my derailleur is droopy and the bike can’t be ridden. Does anyone have any suggestions on replacements or fixes? This is my only road bike and I’d prefer not to go hunting for a new one.

Find an old suntour rear derailleur (in a local bike co-op if you have one). They work better and are bombproof.
