Still an amateur so maybe this is common but I’m confused.

I got a flat tire and when I removed the tube I found the hole on the inside of the tube, where it is touching the rim. I passed my ringer back and forth over the spot and couldn’t feel a thing. This is my 3rd flat tire recently, so it feels like something is off but I can’t find it. Any solutions? I don’t want to put another tube in there and pop it again.

  1. It’s probably a pinch flat. The tube gets pinched inside the tire against the bead of the rim and a rock or a curb or whatever. Feel inside the tire and around the rim for anything sharp before installing the new tube.

You could try to get the rim re-taped. It looks like there is a spoke hole that is exposed. That can cause a flat.

Whether it’s from the tape or not i can’t tell you but the tape is not covering all the holes correctly and that could totally cause a flat.

Check the tire carefully to see if there’s nothing caught in it. Then put another layer of rim tape to better cover the holes. Then get an anti-puncture tire from schwalbe if you don’t have one. Make sure the tire is inflated to the minimum pressure and that the air chamber is well positioned. You’ll get almost zero punctures like that.
