Hi! REI is having a sale at the moment and I’m having a hard time deciding between these two bikes. I currently ride an old Trek hybrid, looking to upgrade to something more lightweight and versatile.
I’m biking more for light commuting (3miles both ways to work) and exercise (Usually one 30mile ride once a week), mostly on paved (although sometimes bumpy) surfaces, with the hopes of getting a bike I can also grow into as I get more into biking! If anyone has any other reccommendations that aren’t these bikes, throw em at me!
I’m prioritizing comfort over speed 🙂
Thanks in advance!

I would go for the Cannondale since it has a 1x drivetrain. The Cannondale Quick will be perfect for the use case you are describing, but if you eventually want to do longer rides or train for a century, a road bike or gravel bike with drop bars and a wider range of gears will be better. I have a hybrid bike for commuting and errands and a gravel bike for endurance rides.
