Recently picked up a 3-Speed Schwinn Huron but am having some trouble with assembly. The front fender doesn’t have the clearance for the wheel to sit in the forks- did I make a mistake attaching the fender? Thanks y’all.
Edit- some sources say to gently bend the fender to create the clearance I need but I’m a little scared to do that

I think your fork is backwards
There is a 99% chance that the fork is on backwards? Flip it around, and then remounting the fender should be easier.
Yes. The fork is backwards. In the pic below, see how the fork legs are curved forward where yours are curved backwards?

Remove the fender and rotate the fork 180 degrees. If the handlebars are no longer pointing to the rear, loosen the handlebar stem and fix that, as well.

Yup. I feel stupid but I appreciate yall 🙏
Most importantly congratulations on the new bike! Always a fun day.
Next time you walk through a Walmart you will see several backwards forks. It’s an easy mistake to make but no one got hurt and you learned, nothing really lost.
Don’t feel bad. We were all new, once. We promise, we’re not laughing at any of this, at least not out loud, and not in malice.
Fork is backwards
in addition to the backwards fork, pls don’t scratch up your floors
happy pedaling
