In this episode of The Kilted Hiker, my family and I finally visit Whistler, British Columbia. Though only a few hours from home, I’d somehow never made the trip. What I discovered was far more than a world-famous ski resort.
Join us as we ride the incredible Peak 2 Peak Gondola, hike alpine trails high above the valley, spot hoary marmots among the rocks, zipline over forested river valleys, and visit beautiful Nairn Falls Provincial Park near Pemberton.
One of my favorite parts of making this episode was having my son, Tuscan, create the original piano soundtrack during an impromptu Airstream recording session. He’s currently pursuing a music major as a classical pianist, and it felt fitting to pair these mountain landscapes with music created by family. Enjoy.

A special thank you to my son, Tuscan, for recording the original piano soundtrack for this episode. Bit of an exercise in improv. He's pursuing a music degree as a classical pianist, and it was a lot of fun weaving his music into this adventure.
Marmots spend up to eight months of the year hibernating beneath the snow. By late summer they're among the largest ground squirrels in North America, putting on as much weight as possible before winter returns.
Just like I remember it. What a fun little family trip. Great job on the music, Tuscan. Great job on the video Jameson.
