new bike day for my daughter. 24.5 lbs even with the rack. 1×9 XT. Couldn't swap the stem because it has an oversized 1 1/4" steerer. Works great with the no-name bosco cruiser bars though.
Strangely the brakes didn't fit over two of the canti studs and I had to file and sand down the studs to get the brakes to mount. Haven't seen that before.

Giant makes stems that work with Cannondales oversize steerers.
Lovely build.
Cannondale steerers are such a hassle, dealt with that exact issue on my old F500 years ago. Ended up finding a random brand stem on eBay that actually fit, worth looking into if she ever wants a different riding position. 24.5 lbs with a rack is impressive for a build like this, she’s gonna fly on that thing.
Filing down canti studs is a new one for me though, never had that problem on any build I’ve done. Sounds like someone drilled those studs slightly off center or something weird from the factory. The purple on those older Cannondales is gorgeous too, holds up way better than a lot of the newer finishes out there. Nice work getting it all dialed in for her.

The tiny chainring with the tiny chainring guard is a nice touch!
That‘s a very nice build – hope your daughter enjoys riding even more than you (clearly) enjoyed putting it together.
