I just grabbed this bike from marketplace, does anyone know anything about this Cadence bike manufacturer? It's clearly Canadian and the person said it was from Montreal but googling Cadence in the context of bikes just gives a bunch of stuff about gear selection lol.
Anyway, the components are pretty fancy! The bike needs a little love, which I have to give so it's all good there. I would just like to know a little more about it if anyone has some knowledge.

Don’t know anything about the manufacturer, but the frame is Tange 2, which is 3rd from the top of Tange’s tubing line. It’s double butted, and the full tubeset has a weight of 2290g, according to the 1988 Tange catalog. That puts it between Columbus SP and SPX, or about 90g heavier than a 531 tubeset.
The geometry appears to be pretty similar to the Centurion Ironman from about the same era, but those are Tange 1, which is about 70g lighter than Tange 2.

Those Helicomatic hubs are flagged in my head as “needs special tools”, although I’ve never actually dealt with one and I am not sure why I think that. Just something that bubbles up from the sludge of decades of reading about bike maintenance.

Anything with Superbe Pro is cool
Used to really love the Superbe group, especially the Track group!
The SunTour Superbe Pro was the best groupset of the time, IMHO. I just had a Centurion Turbo completely restored and was able to find a SP NOS gruppo. It is smoother and quieter than the DuraAce gruppo on my Centurion Ironman Carbon as well as the Super Record group on my restored Cinelli Equipe. Enjoy!
