Try mild soapy water and a nylon cleaning brush. Rinse well. Are they tubeless? If so, add more sealant.

Yeah… Go to your doctor and get check for black mold in your lungs. That house Probably ain’t safe.

But for your bike… Get a nylon brush, soap, warm water, a mask and glasses and give a scrub.

  3. Don’t bother cleaning them and buy new ones. I’d even wear a mask when removing the old ones

  4. Your basement has moisture problems – don’t put your bike there. Your bearings will be dead

  5. You guys are really afraid of mold, huh?

Just clean it. Then clean your basement. Then figure out where the water is coming from and make sure it stays dry.

    Cleaning tips?
Put pure white vinegar in a good *humidifier* and close up your basement to let it run until empty. Then do it again. Maybe a third time.

After that run an industrial dehumidifier 24/7 to keep it dry (well, drier) down there.

You might have a chance at less moldy basement.

Or better, move to a less contaminated house.
    Ye gods.

Worry about the basement first, that’s fucking insane. Just scrub the bike clean. I assume everything possible is rusting, too?

  8. I first read the comments and thought, man they are exaggerating again, but then I read 2 MONTHS…. man you really should see a doctor and a construction expert, thats not normal.

My man, you need to call a mold remediation company. Your walls are probably full of it. Get a dehumidifier first thing tomorrow

  10. Holy fucking shit hahahaha

My bike has been hanging from my ceiling a couple years (I’m hibernating on being into biking, I jump around) and still looks like the day I put it up.

  11. My bike is stored in a windowless, unventilated storage in my 130 year old apartment buildings basement. It’s always humid asf in summer and horrible to even put air in my tires without breaking a sweat. Beneath the plywood subfloor is just dirt. That being said, my bikes and belongings have never looked like that.
