  1. Our backup goalkeeper, Mason Stajduhar, had both of those bones broken as well while making a sliding challenge for ball that turned out to be offsides anyway. The other player, Malachi Jones, also had his tibia and fibia broken, but luckily for both of them their breaks weren't as severe.

  2. While I don’t know the entire history of EPL football, as an Emergency Physician, I would have to say that Raul Jimenez’ skull fracture in 2020 was significantly more life threatening. Open fractures of the extremity are certainly a gruesome site to see, but less life threatening than any skull fracture. Raul Jimenez’ neurosurgeon was reportedly surprised that he survived the ordeal.

  3. Unfortunately, I remember it like it was yesterday it made you guttrenchiinley sick I was a young boy at the time just starting to take an interest in football.

Not the best of football memories, let's put it that way.

  4. Have some of you ever heard of the Ewald Lienen injury? He was a professional in Germany in the 70's or 80's I think.
He got hit hit so badly, that parts of the skin of Lienen's thigh was caught within the studs of the opposing player.
You can see everything and by that I mean EVERYTHING.

So if any of you are interested. Just search up Ewald Lienen injury and it will po right up.
Be Aware, the images are really scary to look at.

  5. As someone who broke both in a vehicle accident, I don't have to imagine who much that injury messes you up, I know, any hopes of attempting a sporting career just disappear, it takes well over a year to recover, my knee still give me trouble to this day, you never truly recover from an event that severe.

  6. Furthermore, he contracted MRSA in hospital, weakening his immune system, and this led to Necrotizing Fasciitus, and parts of his leg muscles were literally eaten away. Poor dudo got absolutely rekt by circumstances. 😐

  7. Injury like Kone's is not uncommon in football. Used to be career ending once upon a time but players have now been able to continue playing professionally post recovery. He should be out for about a year before he represents his club or country again.

  8. most visually gruesome maybe but I'd argue Petr Cech was worse. knee to the head almost killed him and to this day he has no memory of that game after the coin toss
