This made me laugh so much. I’ve done so many long solo rides in rural America and eaten so much absolute trash from Uncle Dave’s or Podunk General. I don’t usually want to be emotionally unstable, but when I do, I choose bicycling. Gravel cycling, because deep down I know I deserve the suffering!

I used to work in a large office building in central Iowa. When we would get new contractors, now then they would send them in with breakfast type foods to break the ice. When they would come in with Casey’s breakfast pizza I almost had to go home from the smell.
On the opposite end my wife and most people I know go bonkers for that trash.

As an Iowan since adulthood and solo cyclist when it comes to gravel, this hits close to home.
Planning a long route around a Casey’s stop(or Maverik…sigh) is commonplace.
