I have had a couple G-lines and they are very nice for many use case scenarios. If you need to transport pack and travel by air it’s not recommended as bulky and heavy. However, if your not interested in air travel it’s great and comfortable. I sold mine and went back to the good old C-line as it packs well and folds small. So, depends what you intend to do.

I have a c line for a 14km commute, I’m looking to change to a G line just to make it a little easier, I can lock it up indoors both ends so the folding is just in case I need it but it’s a nice to have.

For only 8km and you need to fold and carry, I’d go C line.

Personally I don’t understand the G-line, perhaps it rides great but so do non-folding bikes and the G-line is way too cumbersome of a folder to pass as one (for me), perhaps if you’re LeBron James this is your folding bike!

If I were you I would find a similar colourway C/T-line, if I were actually you and going car-free I would pick up a Muli [https://muli-cycles.de/en/bikes/classic](https://muli-cycles.de/en/bikes/classic)
