Add a dropper? Im not understanding what else would stop you from riding trails with it as is

  2. I got an AM 2012, still a sick bike, good to see others still riding them. Such a good looking frame too imo.

I made some changes that have definitely improved it.

Set it up mini mullet (the 2012 is a 26er, don’t know about the ’16).

Switched the shock for one with a shorter stroke, reducing the travel from 150 to (if my calculations are correct) 135mm.

The longer fork / bigger wheel slackened it and improved rollover and stability, the shorter shock slackened it more and dropped the BB.

I also found I could turn my dropper post round and still have the seat at a usable angle, which goes some way to negating the effects of the previous changes on seat tube angle.

I don’t have a lot of disposable income, so my bike is set up so that, other than the frame and suspension there’s no part that would cost me more than £50 to repair/replace. That way if something does break I’m not without bike for long. Just a 11-42 10 speed setup, cheap as chips, will go up anything you’d _want_ to ride up.

Possibly sell it and buy a used xc bike? I mean, your bike is pretty cool for someone looking for that. Gotta be worth something right
