Are you stuck doing bar turns instead of getting some sideways action? As mountain bikers, it’s in our nature to want to whip, but it can be hard to manipulate the bike in the air. Blake Samon is known for his ability to throw all sorts of shapes in the air, so he thought he’d share his technique on whipping an MTB.

  1. When i try to carve into my whip i end up dead sailoring but when i dont carve into a whip i end up being able to do it slightly. What am i doing wrong

  2. you're comfortable whipping the bike to the RIGHT because your front foot is your right foot.. WHY don't you guys mention this when you do these vids? ride "regular foot" with your LEFT foot forward? then a whip to the left will be much easier. if you're ambidextrous, go nuts!

  3. No idea if you'll pick this comment up or not but hope so. I would love to learn how to do this and feel ready in terms of my riding ability, BUT, the fear of it going wrong and ending up doing my collar bone is paralysing me. I'm terrified that as soon as I start trying to whip, I'm ending up in hospital. Could you share some tips and how to avoid those grim landings, otbs etc? Appreciate you gave a little bit of advice in this but yeah. Anything else you could add would be great 🙏

  4. Great insights! Enduro is core to the entire industry. Also, unless it's TdF, peops are not interested in watching full face helmets riding uphill
