Diary of a CEO host Steven Bartlett is amplifying harmful health misinformation on his number-one ranked podcast, a BBC investigation has found.

Recent claims from guests – including that cancer can be treated by following a keto diet, rather than proven treatments – were allowed by the Dragons’ Den star with little or no challenge. Experts have told us failing to question these disproven claims is dangerous because it creates a distrust of conventional medicine.

In an analysis of 15 health-related podcast episodes, BBC World Service found each contained an average of 14 harmful health claims that went against extensive scientific evidence.

Flight Studio – the podcast production company owned by Mr Bartlett – said guests were offered “freedom of expression” and were “thoroughly researched”.

  1. Lot of quacks out there. Including the so-called "gender affirming care" promoted by the likes of the BBC

I agree that Bartlett hosts some dodgy types, and doesn't push back. But there's a lot of that about.

  2. But a celebrity is allowed to say what they did. Unless that person is lying, I don't see the issue. Perhaps this Dr should be focusing on why the public is turning away from/challenging medicine and seeking alternative means of healing. In addition, and most pertinent to this "exposé" is: in the same way that Bartlett is being accused of not pushing back on his interviewees, these Drs have not done the same with conventional medicine! I am no maverick with this but I do like to hear all opinions, not just those that are bound and determined to support old traditions.

  3. Can someone post a list of everyone else the BBC is trying to cancel? I want to make sure I not missing out on other great information. I already love the Diary of a CEO and want to add other brilliant people willing to stand up and tell the truth. Also, “don’t get your information from the internet…” as I watched my dr pull up Google in the patient room with me and type my symptoms- a dr that has been practicing for 40+ years. Use common sense. Don’t go with the first option they give you… but it’s through non-suppressed info like these podcasts that leak the lies big pharma hides and I will take them over a corrupt system trying to kill us for profits any day!

  4. Oh my word BBC. And this is your game isn't it. Reporting on Steven Bartlett is giving you obviously so much more views isn't it? It will obviously make headlines. Well doen BBC!! Sheesh, who couldn't thought of that? Even if what you claim is total rubbish it's still worth it for the bucks and show hey?

  5. So after seeing all this bogus medical information Ivanka Trump saw fit the place where she would once again enter the public square. Very demure no daddy questions no government questions no real questions at all. I unsubscribed but the next thing I knew Javanka was presenting her barefoot billionaire excursion to Sazon, Albania 🇦🇱 and claiming the island as her own discovery off a swim from the back of a Rockefeller Yacht!
Steven Bartlett sold alllllll the way out and BBC should check it's own self too.

  6. Kudos to YouTube for suggesting this when I watched a Diary of a CEO video.

I like to follow Barlett's podcast because it has interesting guests. But it's also packed full of guests who promote horrible and often dangerous misinformation, because most of the time it's business people trying to sell a product regardless of the ramifications. And he never challenges a single guest regardless of their stance.

I like it because I understand science, Capitalism and the misinformation that surrounds it. But it's dangerous if you don't understand science and you take everything as gospel.

  7. The communication between Steven Bartlett and Simon Sinek was highly effective because both demonstrated active listening, clarity, professionalism, and respect.

  8. He invites people to come and express their opinions, not to correct everything they say lol. BBC is a controlled media like the rest of them. They are owned by the oligarchy who are invested in the way things work now.

  9. Just like any podcast and media content that we watch online – CRITICAL THINKING is what everyone should apply to the content. Sadly, the younger generations have lost, or are close to loosing this crucial ability. They no longer question information dispersed online, and this is the real problem.

  10. Hey BBC!!! Forget it. You don’t stand a chance challenging anyone on Giving truth or integrity of information
She is worried that BIG PHARMA will lose their monopoly on NHS and Doctors pushing their gear. And talk about manipulating people through pressure and fear, remember Covid ?
People have freedom to listen to whoever they want. Dont forget it

  11. This is misinformation being pushed by the AMA, big food and the pharmaceutical industries which stands to lose billions in our current illness symptom management system of western medicine.

  12. You people are cowards. You are going after Steven because you know he won't fight back. I'd like to see you fact check some of the health podcast you are afraid off. I have never seen a broadcasting station so fearful of fact checking Donald Trump than the BBC, his not even your president😅😂😂

  13. Why should he question the statement of the guest? He didn't do the research or look at the studies. The doctors did. And it's up to the viewers to read and reasearch more and make their own opinion. Or else you could question all social platform including yours. BS

  14. This totally misses the point of what the program is about, typical UK TV saying people have been told to not get medical help, have you even listened to any of the invites ?
