Only you can know if you want hardtail or fully.

Depending on the trails you ride etc.
For £750 you can get a decent bit of hardtail, but I wouldn’t spend that on a fully unless I knew it was in decent nick, or at the very least serviceable.

That said, the used bike market in the UK is much more forgiving than than in Europe and a decent bike can be found for a good price.

I used to go to Pinkbike for mine, I’d say fb marketplace it’s more likely to be stolen

  2. Are these both 27.5? If your budget is 750, I’d look for a 29er trek roscoe or similar personally.

  3. I’d be going full sus at that price, £750 should be enough to get a good condition one second hand in the UK.

Get something from 2022 or later and it should have modern geometry.

Also look at the Facebook MTB groups, there tends to be more genuine sellers on there vs the marketplace.

Hardtail 100% – a solid workhorse of a bike. In a few years if you can justify get a decent FS if you really want and have the hardtail for bad conditions and winter riding.
