I’m getting back into BMX after 20 years off and picked up this Flying Floval. I really love it, but the handlebars feel low – 6.5″ rise. It seems like low bars have always been the standard for cruisers. I’m wondering why that is and what y’all think about putting bars on in the 8 to 8.5″ range? For reference, I’m 6′ 2″.

As much as it seems like it would ride strangely with bars that tall, I have a friend that is 6 feet tall, has ridden cruisers for years and has 8 inch tall bars on all of his, last I knew. So I guess, go for it!
