I don’t lube my chain before every ride. That’s actually a really bad habit even if you wipe off the excess. What you should do is wipe off your chain after every ride, and then lube, the chain liberally, and before you go on your next ride, wipe off the excess. This allows the lube to dry where it needs to dry and the excess will be wiped off before you ride and start accumulating dirt.
Cars do not lube every ride just do it once every I don’t know however many miles you need to do. I’m just a beginner. I don’t know anything next pump up the tires. Yes you have to do it, but make sure you check the pressure that you need because on the tires, it should say howmuch pressure you should have in your tires and you should have a pressure thingy on your pump

Put squirt a day before riding on a dry chain and never wipe it off. Let the squirt dry and do it’s thing.
