Pretty sure it is on purpose that it is tight since that will be more aero
CP0018 Cockpit? Have a look on etsy.
If you are not super worried about about the aero loss and don’t mind the edge being a little higher this light comes with a Garmin male mount and female on top.

I have a close the gap – hidemybell for the CP0018 and my 1040 fits nicely and I can easily press the lower buttons.
It’s perfect!
pretty sure concentric cycling makes some decent mounts for the bars and 1050

Same issue as yours. Got a 1050 and it hasn’t fitted. I additionally wanted to add a light below. This works great.
K-Edge mounts are great.
