So long story short I had 4 on my bike, but managed to lost 2 and in my city I managed only to get one M6 x 16, but I need 2 M5 x16mm with this head to match the back of my bike. The website I bought them in first place got deleted.

I was trying to search on aliexpress and local website, but couldn't find any.

  1. You don’t need the exact same head. You need the thread diameter and length.

Any hardware store will have an M5 x 16mm.

Yours has a torx head and an unusual head shape. But any headshape will work.

Yea, only time I remember those types were on a Specialized bicycle I had years ago. Did you try Google the picture of it?

You just need the same thread count. Your local bike shop or coop should have them in stock.

If they gotta match, just replace all of yur bolts with some new bolt-head-style that is readily available.

  5. Take the bolt to your local Ace hardware and ask a friendly associate to match the bolt. It probably won’t have the torx head but as others have said, that’s not really important.

That’s a weird head. If you want the four bolts to match (I get that, I am OCD w my bikes) you may have to buy four new bolts with the correct length and thread that match each other. I haven’t seen that head in my wrenching.

  7. Weird because I’m having a similar issue with the ones for my handle bar GPS mount. I can’t find ones that fit properly and I’ve been to two hardware stores.

If you go to a local bike shop usually there’s a pile of unused bolts they will match it with and give to you. If they are nice of course.

  9. all I can offer is that AI and I agree that this is an “ogee socket-head cap screw”. (There are ogee washers available with that profile, and ‘ogee’ is a semi-common term for that concave arch). But I can’t find any bolts with that head profile anywhere.

  10. I just went through this. Searched brake and shift lever bolt kits and my setup and got a match

Thought wolf tooth sold a screw with that style head. I know my twin six came with black ones like it and I do believe paragon(rip) also sold them. Love to know the head type

  12. Are these for water bottle/rack/bag mounts? I think you can contact the bike manufacturer or a bike parts shop online. Some bike stores will have these too. Just make sure that the size and thread match.

Check for thread size, pitch and length. Also make sure you have metric vs inch correct. Take another screw and use the gauge they probably have there to figure it out.

that socket head cap screw head is pretty standard actually. hit up mcmaster-carr like someone said, or even better just go to a local fastener shop if you’ve got one nearby. they usually have bins of this stuff and can match it way faster than ordering online. the socket head cap screw is super common in bike parts so you should find m5 x 16mm without much trouble. worst case you grab a couple extras while you’re there since you’ve already lost two.

  15. Have you searched Amazon for the size M5, length 16 and head type(torq)? I had trouble sourcing some bolts at the hardware store just trying to get rid of some old rusty bits and pieces on a used bike I bought.

  16. We have a ton of these in our bins at the bike shop. Just bring that one in to your locally-loved bike shop and ask if they can match it for you. I’d give it to you for free but depends on the shop.

We are currently in the “I want to be sure my water bottle cage bolts match” phase of cycling.
