I’m currently looking at the rav4 (sorry I still need a car in this stupid city). Consumer reports loved the 2025 model, but the 2026 model didn’t make the list because it didn’t increase in size from the previous year. This whole industry has lost their minds.
Some of these giant cars and trucks really should be commercial only.
This is due to the left pushing more aggressive CAFE standards which pretty much require automakers to make trucks bigger if they don’t want to make them weaker.
Everyone would rather have smaller and more maneuverable vehicles with just as much cargo area and power but they can’t.
Doing exactly what they’re designed to do
The other day I saw a pickup truck that was so big that I was convinced that the driver wouldn’t be able to see if a child or a shorter adult was in front of them. Or someone on their bike. It legit looked like a monster truck…
