Hey so I have Shimano Cues 6020 rear deraileur with 2×10 drivetrain and when I shift from 7 to 8, 8 to 9 and 9 to 10 it makes a loud crunchy noise. My B screw is set to 9mm just like it was recommended in the manual. I also checked my hanger with a tool and it's perfectly straight. All the gears work perfectly fine, shifting is fast and precise, just the biggest sprockets make noise when shifting. What's wrong with it?

It might just come down to CUES having fewer shifting ramps than HyperGlide, and it is more noticeable on the largest sprockets where it takes longer for the chain to reach the next shifting ramp and shift over to the next cog.

This is slightly above normal compared to my cues 10 speed. It’s a budget group set, and noise is expected. As long as it shifts well and consistently you’re not in bad shape. Your derailleur hanger also appears bent outward from the rear image, it would be worth aligning it to aid in that shifting performance

CUES shifting ramps are pretty sparse compared to HyperGlide, so crunching on the bigger cogs is pretty common with that group. If it’s shifting clean and staying in gear, you’re fine.

  4. I had a similar issue installing 11 speed cues on my kid’s bike. Turns out I had the cable routed incorrectly. It was supposed to be routed in a way that was not really obvious. Something to check.
