Store is asking for 1400 after taxes out the door.
Concerned about the chip and dent but it’s a CR-MO frame so they say it should be okay?
Ultegra group set with DT470 DB Rims and borough 700×45 tires.
Thoughts? Is this a fair price?

I agree the the dents do not pose serious structural concern but the price is really high for the age and damage. The ultegra drivetrain is nice but it is not a good match for bikepacking or loaded touring because it doesn’t have low gears. So modifications would be necessary if that is your goal with this bike.
Absolutely great bike and great platform but that price is extortionate for a frame with (admittedly not dangerous) visible damage. I have an AWOL which was sort of the brother to the sequoia from the same time period and it’s a fantastic bike, and the sequoia is as well, but I don’t think I’d be able to get more than $600-800 for my bike secondhand and it’s in great shape with no damage to the frame. The price is slightly easier to swallow considering that it’s such a good platform and could be useful in many potential configs for many years to come… but I would try to talk them down to $1000 out the door or I’d walk.
