As the title suggests I’m looking to buy my first road bike but don’t want to break the bank – would this be a good place to start – it’s been in storage but looks in very good condition
Looks pretty pristine from what I can see… can’t see most of the drivetrain though. If it’s as clear as it looks, and it fits you, that’s a great deal for a first road bike. Be warned though that it’s quite a racy frame so might not be the most comfortable over long distances.
Edit: it also looks like it has continental gatorskin tires on it right now – I’d budget an extra £100-150 for a new set of premium tires, gatorskins are made for maximum puncture resistance at the expense of rolling resistance and ride comfort and feel horribly slow and rough compared to a more premium, supple tire like a GP5000.

Nice looking bike. Since you’re new to the sport, remember to photograph the other side of the bike instead (though you may have gotten these pics from the ad).
