Not sure which race you were watching, Tom looked pretty fresh throughout that. His team played a tactical blinder. He easily rode back up to the wheels twice and rode away from everyone easily. Why do more than you have to to get the win? To try and humiliate you opponents? Everyone is getting used to the benchmark being Tadej absolutely destroying people. There is a lot to be said for calm, considered and tactical racing in the run up to a grand tour when you need to conserve as much energy as possible everyday during a 3 week grand tour. It just shows he backs himself and has the confidence that he will win. During the short track the other week, he sat in last position for about 5-6 laps, conserving energy and moved up when he needed to. Came second in his first mtb race since the Europeans last year?
