  1. The tire canvas has failed, no fix available. There’s a rip in the tire, and in that area it’s now only held together by the tread, so it’s bulging out. If you keep riding it will blow open.

Almost certainly it’s a manufacturing fault.

Over the years I’ve had dozens of customers tell me I sold them a defective tire or tube. Not one of them was ever defective.

This tire here is defective. Congratulations.

  3. Manufacturing fault almost certainly.

I got similar but much smaller bubbles on a Schwalbe Pro One tire I set up tubeless. Gave pictures to the retailer and they immediately sent me a replacement.

Thanks for swift responses. I’ve stopped riding and the Mrs has gone to get the car. I’ll definitely contact customer services.

This is why your car tires are “steel belted” … When the belts break, your car tire will do the same thing. (Ask me how I know)

  6. You may have hit a pothole too fast. The same thing happened on my Java Neo trifold. We got no choice but get a new tire even if it’s just a week old. 😂

torn casing in the tire. most likely defective, though there is a very slim possibility that an impact could have caused the tear. contact schwalbe or your LBS and begin the warranty process.

that’s a manufacturing defect. the canvas layer separating from the carcass like that doesn’t happen from heat or normal wear, especially at 150km. contact schwalbe with photos and they’ll almost certainly replace it. don’t ride it any further though, that blister will only get worse and could blow catastrophically.
