This was a Fantastic Gravel bike ride, I would encourage anyone who lives in the area to check out the hidden potential of the gravel single tracks in the Cotswolds water park.
If your into your history a slow bicycle ride along the mostly quiet country roads in Water hay and surrounding area will reveal more hidden gems like the medieval Chancel of All Saints Nr Leigh.
The area is quite flat and the cycling is easy:)

the old disused rail track make the most relaxing and non technical easy rides that go for miles deep into the country, there is a beautiful track that runs from shoreham-by-sea here in sussex and passes up the river Adur to bramber castle and continues all the way 37 miles, to Guildford.
Keep smiling adventures, have you bought a Bonk hat? 😆
You could definitely camp in that bull field Sandy, but only if you pitch a red tent! 😉
Most enjoyable Sandy. Thanks for sharing brother.😊
Hi Sandy,
That looks like a very enjoyable ride. Thank you for the film, have a great weekend and all take care, best regards. 👍👍👍
I enjoyed vidieo great of rd cyclin
That was a great video Sandy. A lovely area to explore. There’s a whole network of lakes over there. Good job you had your Garmin. That looks like a real asset to help you navigate your way through some of those gravel lanes.
So you and Dave gone with the Tarpstar? Ha, excellent choice! I’m not a subscriber to Keep Smiling Adventures but I should be – I loved his series of films crossing UK on a BMX and on a kick scooter – hilarious and admirable! Good to know England still produces loveable nuts! 😁
Might want to avoid that field. 🤔🤣
Maybe it's a friendly bull! Do they make those?
Brilliant ride, Sandy. I think you'll need the Firebox XXL for that bull. 😛
Is it a good idea to camp in that field? Bullocks! Lovely rideout. Enjoyed your thoughts on the combustion engine. It'll be a genius of the future to finally solve that problem and return some silence to the world
I was amazed the chancel door was open! Lovely weather, it seemed to get brighter as the video went on…. take care mate
14:50 …. an interesting camp location,
abandoned air fields are full of good locations too,
Sandy thank you so so much for sharing that view of the 1,300 century church that was incredible and the field that it sits in with the wild flowers reminds me of my backyard with wild flowers when I lived in the Netherlands. Absolutely amazing the church has survived for so long with out vandals destroying it or ruining its beautiful interior. Thank you so much for sharing it it made my day. Hope your kx2 is still running well remember I lived a long walk from from their factory in Watsonville California. KM6ODD 73’s my friend from the other side of the pond.
Once again a superb effort from you Sandy, it’s always exciting to get a notification from you. Shouldn’t be a problem camping in that paddock, just leave your running shoes on. All the best
Love your cycle rides out! That yet again was another really enjoyable one Sandy.👌👍
Always ride that railway track to Cricklade does get overgrown in the summer months plenty of punctures
Alpkit tarptent?
Another great video from you, the Chancel looked other worldly.
In respect of our servicemen & women, I don't think they're remembered or forgotten, by the bringers of war, I don't think they are ever considered in the first place.
G'day Wiltshire Man. Another great video. Really lovely scenery and interesting history. You've been putting out some great videos lately – your garden has come on in leaps and bounds. Thanks for bring us along on your journeys. All the best, Glen – Hobart, Tasmania.
There is only one way to find out if its a good idea to camp out there in that field Sandy, do it and you will know. Whats the worst that can happen? Loving the video mate!!
Hi sandy,
You reminded me.the woman who owns the salt well did say the water was undrinkable as it had been contaminated by what had soaked in to.earth from that airfield.
12:51 Probably safe – it'll be up in Westminster.
Is that a stealth antenna behind the gate ?
Great vid as ever . . .
Bull in field Sandy , just remember what happened to Terry Scott in Carry on Camping 😂
Hi Sandy, another thoughly enjoyable video, you certainly know your part of the county like the back of your hand, like Roger Hargreaves your delivery is very paced, so I find you relaxing to listen to, no matter the content. Lets hope Mandy's health holds up and its a warm, but not too hot summer, so you can film us more of your adventures. ATB Big Dave Scotland
I watched this video at 9am this morning and at 10 am I was on my bike on my way to see the chapel and nature reserve.. found the church but need to go back to see Blakehill as I went on every road apart from the right one … 🙏
