Hi all! I'm a new rider and looking for a used road bike. I don't want to go on budget for a new hobby and I also live in Canada where use is limited to a couple of months a year.
I came across this Giant bike for $395 CAD. The seller is selling on behalf of a neighbour who has passed so it doesn't seem like they have much insight on the specs. From what I can deduce, it seems to be an older bike (from the mid 2000s) with a carbon frame and 3×9 crankset.
Regarding sizing, I am 5'6 (female) and the seller has confirmed it says size 46.5 on the frame which I believe will fit me. I think it's a woman's bike (?)
I think it's pretty good value but would love to hear your thoughts. I also have to travel 2 hours to pick it up so I hope it fits.

This model is one of my favorites. I bought one, sold it, missed it, sold my disc uberbike, and bought another one. It’s one of the smoothest road frames from this era. I’ve left mine with the same triple drivetrain because the middle gear is perfect for cruising. Maintenance is easy with that group because the routing is all external. The only real downside is tire clearance; it has just enough for 28c.
46.5cm seat tube is a size S for this frame. You’re on the high end of the height range, but it would probably still fit at the cost of a bit more toe overlap with the front wheel. Lots of stack in the front. The bike appears to be in great shape and almost entirely original. The price is fair, though I’ll bet they’d take a $300 offer.
Expect to replace the tires, tubes, and brake pads (not for wear but hard, old rubber and lack of grip). Probably the shifters will be sluggish on the upshifts (small black lever, bigger rings to smaller). Often easy to fix with some WD40 or similar sprayed on the shifter internals to thin the old grease.
