Picked up a Canyon Grail CF 7 and damn, I love it already.
It’s my first carbon bike. I know the CF 7 is still relatively heavy compared to higher-end carbon builds since it’s more of an entry-level model, but coming from my previous bike it feels ridiculously light. The difference is immediately noticeable.
It’s not perfect yet though. The cockpit isn’t fully aligned with the front wheel, the saddle is a bit too low, and I need to tweak the derailleur because the easier gears are making a bit of noise. So there’s still some wrenching to do before it’s fully dialed in.
That said, I absolutely enjoyed the first ride. No buyer’s remorse whatsoever.
One question for other Grail owners, does anyone have experience with the Fidlock bag for the Grail?
I have a size M frame and bag, and it seems impossible to fit two bottle cages with bottles once the bag is installed. Also, the internal storage space is kind of terrible. It looks really clean, but so far it feels more like a gimmick than something genuinely useful.
Am I missing something, or do most people end up ditching it for a regular saddle bag? Any recommendations are welcome.

bottle cages -> Get a sideloader for the down tube (front). seat tube one fits any regular bottle (for me 950ml). Down tube with sideloader fits 750ml while having the Fidlock bag.
For the down tube storage -> I find it very convenient. But, you shouldn’t have crazy expectations. Can you fit a water bottle there? No. However, you can fit roadside repair kit (mini hand pump, spare tube(s), multitool, tire lever and even 1-2 emergency gels). No need to open it up frequently and you save yourself a saddle bag or similar.
