This man hand built a wooden bike – and then decided to ride it across the UK, 800 miles from John O’Groats to Devon… why?!!!
Such a great day meeting this super interesting bloke who might teach you something ๐
His full story is here – such a great watch.

Tankyou,Katie,Making others happy might,in turn, enrich my own life as well.
That was a very interesting video, for something completely different.
The world is full of amazing and talented people
Iโm all for the cycling through X country videos, but itโs ones like these and with the blind folk that are the best. The cycling community isnโt just about racing or bike backing, look at all this extra stuff! Thanks Katie
Also, what an incredibly story about how he chose his charities. Just epic!
I thought I could not see a crazier thing after Graeme Obree's "Washing machine bicycle", but this person shows an incredible ingenuity and passion, creativity and social sensitivness
Completely bonkers, but why the hell not, especially when also raising money!
Although not sure about riding over the bumps with those wheels ๐ฎ
So impressed by his honesty and wanting to do something different. Good on him!
Hopefully the bike raises loads of money.
And another lovely interview where you give the person the opportunity to tell their story
Thank you Katie โค
What an amazing man – philosopher on wooden wheels – nice on Katie x
That's both hideous, and brilliant at the same time! Great video Katie! And well done for the long ride on that machine !
Burrows, Obree, Kidus
That was wonderful to hear and watch. Great video!
Probably made out of hemp ๐ฟ
That break system just looks dangerous to me .
Love this update Katie
Amazing tech truly a great vlog Katie ๐
such a cool thing! you could do a series and reach out to Saoirse Pottie, she rode Africa on a bamboo bike (albeit a "proper" one)
Thanks for sharing this video Katie!! Love the interviews you do showcasing people and their love for cycling! So cool! โค I love the break too! What a neat idea!!
I love video like this
Lovely story. I bet with some PR and promotion this bike could do well at a public or private auction and support those two charities.
My bike frame is made of woodโฆ but itโs much more like a normal bike ๐
If i lived around the corner ,i would say he can have 1 of my spare bike's in the shed, its a carrera ,but u are miles away…im in cheshire
Great video Katie. You really summed it up by saying…..it is what the bike gives you. I meet so many people when out riding. If it wasn't for having a bike and being able to stop and chat to people, I wouldn't be able to do this. Love how you described it…

love this!
Great upload I have read and watched a bit of stuff on this extraordinary fella:) reminds me of the amazing bamboo bikes featured in "The Engine Inside" truly great channel Katie thanks:):)
Flow and charity, great things to care about.
I think that would feel better than my aluminum bike with marathon plus tyres.
